Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery
Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure aimed at reducing the size of the stomach. During the surgery, a large portion of the stomach is removed, including the fundus, which is responsible for secreting the hunger hormone ‘Ghrelin’.
The reduction is achieved using multiple staplers, resulting in a sleeve or tube-like structure of the stomach. This procedure permanently decreases the stomach's size, which effectively limits food intake and helps in significant weight loss.
